Waverley Hoppa Community Transport provide an invaluable service through enabling affordable transport for local people who are disadvantaged due to rural isolation, disability, vulnerability, or who cannot access public or other transport for any reason.

The Hospital Hoppa provides door-to-door transport for those who need to attend appointments at the Royal Surrey County Hospital or other medical centres in Waverley & Guildford.  These are typically non-emergency patients who are not eligible for the free transport offered by the NHS. Hospital Hoppa passengers pay a small fare for the journey but this service normally runs at a loss. This has been made worse by the fact that public sector funding has been slashed by 50% resulting in escalating costs for running the service.

Given that, of the 1,400 passenger trips made last year approximately half of these were by Godalming and villages residents, GOLO was keen to provide funding (October 2017) towards the service to help keep it operating.
